Day 4 – #ChickLitLove: Galentine’s Day

Today, we #CLC gals are celebrating all things Best Girl Friends from our chick-litty novels. Of course we all know I love writing kisses the best. But second best are those scenes with our sassy heroine and her equally sassy BFF. There’s something so wonderful when it’s just chicks in the room. Great belly laughs, sometimes tears, but always chocolate.
Happy Galentine’s Day from my gals. . . .
Abby and her bestie Molly from ABBY ROAD
Tess & Mackenzie from both PLAYING AT LOVE & SPEAKING OF LOVE
Spring and Mel from DEFINITELY, MAYBE IN LOVE
Ellie and Jane from FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER
Now grab your bestie, your favorite drinks and let’s all karaoke!

Cover reveal & givaway – Face Time

Hey guys. I’m so excited to have been asked to help a fellow chick author out with her cover reveal. And it’s a beaut!

Face Time (Love in the Digital Age #1)
By S. J. Pajonas
Contemporary Adult Romance, coming April 25, 2014

Check out the awesome blurb:
After the best first date ever, Lee thought Laura was funny, intelligent, and impulsive; a whirlwind of bright laughter and happiness. Laura loved Lee’s sweet smile and the way he expertly filled in every awkward pause. He held her hand and then pulled her in for the most perfect kiss she’s had in years. What could possibly be wrong? Just the 7000 miles that separates them the next day.
Even though Lee has gone home to Seoul, Laura can’t stop thinking about him. What starts as an innocent text thanking him for their dinner date becomes something much more: someone either of them can’t live without. But Laura’s got a live-in mother going through a midlife crisis, and Lee’s stressful traveling schedule means they’ll be apart for some time. Life, family, and a complicated past also get in the way, and they’re both going to need actual face time to figure it out.
Told from both Lee and Laura’s point of view, FACE TIME is a funny, romantic, modern-day story about two people who connect across the world.

Day 3 – #ChickLitLove: Meet Charlie (aka: "Big Game Hunter")

For today’s stop on the #ChickLitLove tour, Charlie from FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER is in the “hot” seat. Get to it, sexy Charlie!
Celebrity you’ve been told you look like:The guy from that show Supernatural. I don’t really see it, but I’ve been told it’s a compliment, so I’m smart enough to smile and say thank you. It might also be because we both drive a black Chevy Impala.
Naughty food you like to indulge in:There’s this great pie place in my hometown. I always like to stop in when I’m at home on leave. Also, I started hanging around this awesome woman named Ellie and she’s addicted to hot fudge sundaes. Since it’s pretty much the hottest thing ever to watch her eat a sundae, I make sure to take her out for ice cream as often as I can.
What you wear to bed: My army ID tags and a smile.
Favorite body part of the opposite sex:I’ve always been a leg man. Ellie’s got amazing legs, being a ballet dancer, so I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Ellie also has long, red hair. It’s so gorgeous, it drives me crazy.
How many people you’ve said “I love you” to: Only two people who aren’t related to me by blood. One is my best buddy, Sam. We’ve been through a lot together in the army. The other person is for me to know and you to find out…
Relationship deal-breaker: I’m very close to my family. If the woman I’m with isn’t cool with that, she can hit the bricks.
Your first kiss – How old were you? Did you instigate it?: I guess I was five or six because we were in kindergarten, under the monkey bars. I’m sure I was the instigator because I have a clear memory of being called to the principal’s office afterwards. My first real kiss with a girl I had a crush on was in fifth grade band class. I played trumpet and she played flute. I think it was something about the way her mouth puckered when she played. I was curious…
Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, describe: I have two tattoos. One on my left arm around the bicep and the other is on my chest. Both have to do with things my army unit and I have been through. We got them as a team.
Favorite alcoholic drink: Whatever’s on tap.
Describe your dream girl: *smiles* Honestly, I’d never imagined a “dream girl” before. But the moment I met a certain redheaded ballerina, she started filling my head with things I never knew I wanted in a woman. Ellie is most definitely my dream girl come to life.
That’s it for today, guys. Check back tomorrow for more #ChickLitLove fun! And don’t forget to follow all the #ChickLitLove on Twitter!

Day 2 – #ChickLitLove: Tango, anyone?

Hey gang. I’m back for day 2 of #ChickLitLove. So much fun! Today we’re all sharing a romantic excerpt from our stories. Sticking with FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER, I’m going with the aftermath of Charlie & Ellie’s first kiss…which, of course, leads to another kiss. Because kisses are the best.
Here we find Ellie trying to teach Charlie how to do the tango. They had a slight detour.

Maybe he’d get lucky…maybe that kiss had been as insanely mind-blowing for her as it had been for him. He’d kissed a lot of women, but not one had ever made him feel like that, hungry and helpless and spinning out of his mind.

He hadn’t meant to back her into the wall like an animal, but he was afraid if he didn’t have help keeping them upright, he would end up pulling them both to the floor. A few months ago, he would have done that without a second thought, but not now, not with Ellie. That was a Hunter move, and the hunter was dead….
Without thinking, he leaned down and kissed her, slowly, loving the way her lips parted immediately, trembling under his. He’d never made a woman’s lips tremble from just a kiss before. Or maybe his were the ones trembling; he couldn’t be sure. He held her face between his hands, combing his fingers into her hair. Then slowly, regretfully, he let go.
She was breathing hard, her eyes closed. “Anyway,” she said after a shaky inhale.
“Sorry. You were about to say something.”
“No, no.” She nodded. “It’s okay…that was okay.”

#ChickLitLove – Q&A with Ellie

To kick off this week of #ChickLitLove, we’re asking our sassy heroines some Valentines Day-themed questions. I chose Ellie from FALLING FOR HER SOLDIER. Take it away, Ellie!
What three qualities do you find most attractive in a partner? If my guy has a great sense of humor, that’s a huge plus because I love to laugh. Honesty is very important to me, too. And also, a sexy smile can melt me into a happy puddle of love goo.
What’s your idea of romance? I love it when my guy does something for me that I know he’s never done for anyone else—ever. Like dancing the tango to Michael Buble with me…that’s pretty hot. (hint: Charlie)

Who’s your favorite on-screen couple? Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks from You’ve Got Mail. Not only is that movie darling and Meg Ryan’s hair is supercute, but their story is close to my heart because Charlie and I met the same way…through e-mails.
What’s been your most embarrassing moment in regards to the opposite sex? Oh…where should I start? Even though I’m a ballet dancer, I’ve never been particularly elegant when I’m not “on stage.”
What was your first impression of your partner? How accurate was it? I had a crush on e-mail Charlie long before we met in real life. He was thoughtful and funny and he really listened to me. I was hoping he would be handsome, but I never expected him to be the sexiest guy on the freaking planet.
How have you coped with break-ups in the past? My most recent break-up was pretty tough, so much so that I decided to put myself on dating ice for a whole year. I kept dating the wrong kind of guy and needed to break the cycle. I also learned to love hot fudge sundaes.
Which hot actor would you want to be stranded on a deserted island with and why? One of my friends said that Charlie looks like some actor from Supernatural. I’ve never seen the show but if he looks anything like Charlie…sign me up!

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done for love? I didn’t know it at the time, but I danced on live TV with the guy I was falling in love with.

PDA: How much is acceptable?  I’m not a huge fan of it, but sometimes you just can’t help it. I’ve been known to instigate a little PDA when the mood strikes. It’s fun to keep your partner on his toes…or off his feet.

What is the best relationship advice you’ve ever gotten? My best friend Jane told me to forgive and move past something that had really upset me. It was a trust issue and I had some baggage from a previous relationship about that. Taking Jane’s advice was a huge leap of faith, but it ended up being the best decision I’ve ever made.
