As noted before, I have a love/hate relationship with running. I’m rather unenthusiastic about the whole thing, although I try to go a few times a week. Because we have to, right? It’s exercise, not a nap. Anyway….
We had some rain last week, so I hadn’t been out on the running trail behind my house for…I think it was 9 days. (I wasn’t running but I did manage to write a few pretty great chapters, so there was a pay off!) When I hit the trail on Monday, I was stunned.
For…the Blue Bonnets were out!
On my run yesterday, I decided to bring my camera to snap some quick shots; our beloved and sometimes elusive state flower aren’t in bloom for very long. Plus, that allowed me some lovely and ever-needed breath-catching breaks.
Here’s what I saw. Enjoy!
(forgive the blurriness. I was running, ya know.)
Oh, so lovely. Reminds me of the fields of poppys in The Wizard of Oz. Uhhh-cchhhooooo.
Yes, it does. And the smell is so strong. In a good, non-Ozzy-toxic way. 🙂
I miss the bluebonnets, so enjoy!
I will. I wish I could sleep in them!
